The show was very good. It was my first time at Starlake and we sat in section 6 row w. A good view of the stage and the sound system was excellent. Some highlights:
Snowy White was very good and clear and he did not get a mention in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette review by John Young. He seemed the most confident at handling Gilmour's runs. Nothing against AFL or DB they played well and their version of Wish You Were Here was different and nice.
During It's a Miracle...we thought we were in heaven with the angels. What God Wants was fantastic and the background singers really stood out on Waters' solo stuff.
We sat in a friendly, groovy, mellow section with little all out beer trashing and a lot of "numb" Waters fans. The visuals were a treat and fun to watch.
Some lowlights:
- The chant was left out of It's A Miracle and riffs were missing from Shine On...
- Carin missed the pinprick on 'Numb and Money was not strong vocally. The background singers were very strong during the first and last parts of the show but were missed during the middle of the concert.
- Lots of people went to piss during It's a Miracle and Dogs and missed some of the best parts of the show. However, at Starlake the seating aisles are wide enough were people can pass behind you without much disturbance.
A Surprise:
- Waters was very upbeat and before 'Numb mentioned that he would like to rekindle some of the old magic with his former band mates!!
All in all, a good concert.
Go Back.
